Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply to 8go8autorentals.com (the "Site"), operated by Shorty LLC doing business as 8GO8 Auto Rentals ("we", "us"). By using the Site or submitting a booking request, you agree to these Terms, our Rental Agreement, and our Privacy Policy.

1. How booking works

  1. You submit a booking request with your dates, vehicle and contact details.
  2. You pay a deposit (30% of your rental total, up to $100) through our payment provider, Stripe. Your card is saved securely by Stripe. You can pay the remaining balance by card before pickup or in cash at pickup.
  3. Once your deposit is paid, your dates for that vehicle are reserved and we email you a confirmation.
  4. Instead of paying a card deposit, you may send a request to pay by cash or Venmo. We will contact you to arrange payment, and no dates are held until payment is arranged and we confirm.
  5. We review every booking for 24 hours. If, for any reason, we cannot provide the vehicle (for example unexpected maintenance or damage, a scheduling conflict, or we cannot verify you), we will notify you and refund your deposit in full.
  6. At pickup you show a valid driver license and sign or confirm the Rental Agreement.

2. Prices, taxes and fees

The price shown is an estimate based on the daily rate and number of nights, plus any delivery or pickup fee, Hawaii general excise tax and applicable government surcharges. The final amount is based on the actual rental, including any extra days, fuel, cleaning, tolls, tickets or damage charges described in the Rental Agreement.

3. Deposit, remaining balance and card authorization

By submitting a booking request and checking the agreement box, you authorize 8GO8 Auto Rentals to charge the deposit now (30% of your estimated total, up to $100, shown at checkout), to charge the remaining rental balance to the card you provide before pickup (unless you chose to pay the balance in cash at pickup), and to charge the same card for additional amounts you owe under the Rental Agreement (such as extra days, fuel, cleaning, tolls, tickets, or damage up to the amounts allowed there). We will email you a receipt for each charge. You may contact us to dispute a charge before disputing it with your bank.

4. Cancellations and changes

  • Cancel at least 72 hours before your pickup time for a full refund of your deposit.
  • Cancellations within 72 hours of pickup, and no-shows, forfeit the deposit.
  • To change dates or vehicle, email us as early as possible; changes depend on availability.
  • Refunds go back to the original card and may take several business days to appear.

5. Using the Site

You agree to give accurate information and not to misuse the Site, including by submitting false or spam requests, attempting to access admin areas, interfering with the Site, or using automated tools to scrape or overload it. We may block access or cancel bookings for misuse.

6. Photos, content and ownership

The Site's text, logos, photos and design belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse them without our written permission.

7. Disclaimers and limits of liability

The Site is provided "as is". We do not guarantee it will always be available or error free. To the fullest extent allowed by law, our liability related to the Site is limited to the amount you paid us for the booking in question, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Hawaii law, or your rights under the Rental Agreement.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Hawaii law. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Honolulu, Hawaii, unless the law requires otherwise.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. The version number above changes when we do. Your booking is governed by the version you agreed to when you booked.
