This policy explains what personal information Shorty LLC doing business as 8GO8 Auto Rentals ("we") collects through 8go8autorentals.com, how we use it, and your choices.
1. What we collect
- Booking and contact details: name, email address, phone number (if you give it), rental dates, vehicle, delivery or pickup service (including the delivery address you give us) and the messages you send us.
- Payment information: handled by Stripe. Your full card number goes to Stripe, not to us. We receive and store limited details such as the card brand, last four digits, and a token that lets us charge the card as you authorized.
- Driver verification: we check your driver license and photo ID in person at pickup. We may note the check in our records.
- Technical and security data: IP address and browser details, used to prevent spam and fraud and to record when you agreed to our terms.
2. How we use it
- to process and confirm your booking, take payments and communicate with you about your rental;
- to verify renters, prevent fraud and spam, and protect our vehicles;
- to keep records of your agreement and handle damage, tolls, tickets, disputes and insurance claims;
- to meet tax, accounting and legal obligations;
- to answer your questions.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send marketing email unless you ask for it.
3. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us operate, each limited to what it needs:
- Stripe (payments);
- Supabase (database hosting) and Vercel (website hosting);
- Resend and Google Workspace (email);
- our insurers, tow or repair providers, and professional advisers, when needed for a claim or legal reason;
- police or other authorities if the law requires it or a vehicle is stolen or misused.
4. How long we keep it
We keep booking and payment records for as long as needed for tax, accounting, insurance and legal reasons, typically up to seven years. Contact form messages are kept for as long as needed to respond and for our records.
5. Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections and access controls. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or ask us not to contact you, by emailing reservations@8go8autorentals.com. We may need to keep some records for legal and tax reasons. Our Site does not use advertising or tracking cookies at this time.
7. Children
The Site is for adults. Renters must be at least 25. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes
We may update this policy, and the version number above will change. See also our Terms of Use and Rental Agreement.
